Penn-Plax Dog Toys

Generated image

Hi everyone! This is the last raffle item of today, and its a good one! Penn-Plaxx Pet Products donated a bunch of different toys for us to review and raffle off to you... including two dog toys!

Mama was really happy about the treat balls. Last week Sammy-Joe wrote a post about keeping your pets smart and preventing cognitive dysfunction as we get older, and one of the tips he wrote about was to give us puzzle toys that make us use our brains! Treat balls are a great way to make us work for our treats. If we have to try to figure out a way to get treats out of a ball, instead of just being handed a treat, it stimulates our minds!
Our Mama gave us the treat balls first. She took some pictures so we could show you how these treat balls work, from start to finish!

1. Dial the mouth open to the widest position!

2. Put some small treats into the mouth of the treat ball.

3. Dial the mouth of the treat ball back to as small of a closure as you want. Our Mama actually opened it up a little wider after this, so that the treats would fall out more easily as we got the hang of it.

Trixie loved the treat ball most of all! She figured out how to get the treats out right away. Lily spent a lot of time crying, "Mama! I need help!" And then Trixie tried to lend a hand (or tongue) but ended up eating Lily's treats in the process!

Next, Mama gave us the squeaky toys! These are a little bit like stuffies, but not as furry. They are made out of durable canvas, and are shaped like elephants, dogs and kitties. We were really excited about them because we love stuffies... and because these are made out of tough material, Lily hasn't been able to eat the squeakers out yet!
The reason our Mama took pictures of us while she was still holding the toys was because, when we play with them (especially Lily) we like to shake them. Mama took pictures of us playing with the squeakies, and they turned out as just big blurs! The only way she could get a nice, sitting-still picture was to hold the toys up for us to gaze longingly at.

Finally she did get a nice picture of me nibbling on a squeaky kitty!

Bookmark this blog entry as something you want to spend one of your raffle tickets on, because TEN winners can win a doggie bag with one treat ball and one stuffie! This package will be listed as "Penn-Plax Doggie Bag". Remember, on March 13, you can start tossing in your raffle tickets!

Winners Of The FlaxyPet Giveaway!

Hi everyone! It is time to announce the winners of our FlaxyPet Giveaway! Two dogs and two cats have each won a container of FlaxyPet!

First, for the cats.
The prizes go to a first time visitor,  Tracy from My Thoughtful Spot; and to our good friend Oskar From The Daily Oskar and Pet Blogs United! (Yes, we know, Oskar is a dog. But he entered the giveaway on behalf of his kitties! He is a generous guy!)

And now, the dogs.
The prizes go to Browndog, and to Sugar The Golden Retriever! (Sugar worked super hard to win this, by the way. She came up with a dog treat recipe that involved flaxseed and posted it on her blog and on FlaxUSA's Facebook page, visited the FlaxUSA website, and "liked" FlaxUSA on Facebook! Now, that is dedication!)

Thanks, everyone, for participating in this giveaway! We hope to have lots more for you in the future!

Remember, tomorrow is the beginning of Apollo's Blogathon, so be sure to come make your donations via his ChipIn, and get your raffle tickets! See ya then!

PS. Do you feel like we use lots of exclamation marks? We sure do like to exclaim things!

Look what came for us!

We wanted to say thanks to our new friend Jackie from Penn-Plax Pet Products for sending this great big box of stuff for us! We were so excited when Mama brought the box in, we started jumping up and down! We know that when packages come, they are usually for us.
We can't show you what's in it yet. Miss Jackie sent these things for our blogathon that will be starting on March 5, where we'll be raffling things off to make money for our friend Apollo's medical treatments! Starting on March 5, we will start writing the product reviews and showing off the things you can enter to win. Then, from March 13 to March 15, you'll be able to enter!

We are so excited. Mama let us all play with our new toys already and we had lots of fun! We hope you will be ready to come to our blogathon!

Speaking of giveaways, don't forget to enter to win FlaxyPet products! You have until this Friday at 3:00 pm Central!

We Made Flax and Parmesan Dog Treats!

Hi everyone! Yesterday when we wrote about our FlaxyCat and FlaxyDog giveaway, we promised you a recipe for dog treats using flaxseeds. So here it is! By the way, we found this recipe (and somewhat adapted it for our own attention spans) from DogTreatKitchen.com

First you should turn on your oven to 400 degrees, to get it preheated.

Here are your ingredients: Flax Seeds (We're using some of our FlaxyDog, of course!), water, and Parmesan Cheese. You will also need a baking tray, parchment paper, and an oven. And something to mix the dough with, like a spoon.

Mix 1 CUP of Flaxseeds with 1/2 CUP of Water. Add about 1/2 A CUP of Parmesan cheese. Mix it and knead it until it resembles dough. Mama forgot to take a picture of this, so use your imagination!

Place a piece of parchment paper onto a baking tray. Set the dough on top of the paper.

Cover this with a second piece of parchment paper. You can actually roll the dough while it is between the two sheets of parchment paper, if you want to avoid making a mess! If you don't have a rolling pin, you can use a jar of peanut butter. Thats what our Mama did!

Pop the whole thing into the oven!

Its now time to wait impatiently in front of the oven for 15 whole minutes!

Finally, take the batch out of the oven! You can cut or tear into pieces that are just the right sizes for the dogs in your house. And don't forget to label them DOG TREATS so the humans don't steal them! (We did find the exact same recipe on a HUMAN health food site, so... the humans might really try to steal these!

Remember to enter our giveaway if you'd like to win some FlaxyDog or FlaxyCat for yourselves! The deadline is next Friday, March 4, at 3:00 pm Central. Good luck!

PS. We have an EMERGENCY BLOGATHON coming up starting on March 5 to raise money for an Almost Home dog named Apollo who needs expensive medical treatment. We're going to be raffling off lots of great items during those ten days. Each raffle entry will be $1.00 (so if you donated $10.00, you could enter ten times, either spending ten tickets on one item or spreading them out throughout the ten days!) We have some great companies donating things, PLUS our Mama has come up with a few creative things to raffle off too... so please save the date! :)

Review and Giveaway: FlaxyCat and FlaxyDog

Hi everyone! We got something new in the mail today and we get to share it with you!
Sometimes we hear humans talking about how flaxseeds are good for them. Flax seeds are full of fiber, which helps with your digestion and can help prevent things like hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes. Flax seeds also have lots of protein and vitamins in them. And they have lots of Omega-3, which is really good for humans. It can reduce their risk of things like heart disease and stroke. We know of humans who like to mix flaxseeds in with their foods, or use it in recipes.

But we just found out that flaxseeds are also good for pets!

The people from FlaxUSA sent us some samples of their FlaxyCat and FlaxyDog products. Our Mama has been sprinkling some of it into our food every day. It doesn't change the taste of our food at all... although for some reason we all get really excited when we see her mixing it into our bowls! We know that the flax in our food is giving us all the same benefits that humans can get from it, like healthier hearts and better digestion. Eating it regularly can give us healthier joints, healthier skin, shiny coats, more energy, and faster healing when we do get sick.

Our Mama told us that huskies that are sled dogs are given flax oil regularly because it helps give them strength and energy, and helps to heal their paws. (Apparently they get lots of little cuts on their paws from all that running in snow and ice!)

Mama also read that Omega-3 (which is found in flaxseeds) can help stop the growth of cancerous tumors in pets. Can you believe that? She read that tumors can use simple carbohydrates (found in regular white flour, and sugar) to grow larger... but they cannot use the complex carbohydrates found in flaxseeds.

Eating flax can also help pets with allergies, itchy skin, and even mild arthritis!

We learned something else too. We know a lot of our friends who like to make their own dog treats. Did you know you can actually replace all or some of the flour in these recipes with flax? Or just add some flax into the recipe! Then your treats are not only delicious, but healthy too! Mama said tomorrow she is going to bake some treats for us using the flax seeds, just to show all of you how it can be done! (She would have done it today, but she had a lot of homework, and now Gramma is on her way home from work, and Mama cannot bake when Gramma is around because Gramma makes her too nervous! LOL!)

FlaxUSA has a special way of preparing their flax so it's at its healthiest. First, they use high quality flaxseeds grown by North Dakota farmers near where their business is located. They choose to use Golden Omega Flaxseed, as opposed to Brown Flaxseed, because the Golden kind has a better flavor that blends well with foods. The Brown kind can make foods taste bitter.

They clean the seeds rigorously. Then they grind the flaxseeds using a special method called Real Cold Milled, which keeps the flax fresh for 22 months. Other, more common ways of grinding the flaxseeds can take away the effectiveness of the Omega-3s and cause the flax to not last as long.

The FlaxUSA people also sent us four extra containers of flax. Guess why? So some of you can try it out too! We have two containers of FlaxyDog and two containers of FlaxyCat. Follow the directions to enter the giveaway. On Friday, March 4, at 5:00 pm Central, we will choose four winners to send the containers to!

Thanks For The Boots!

Hi everyone! Its me, Lily!

Now that we are always doing reviews and winning stuff, whenever the mail comes Trixie and I get all excited and start jumping around! We're always hoping we will get treats or a toy.
The other day I got a package and it wasn't treats or a toy! Before I tell you what it was, I have to tell you a funny story.

We won a set of Pawz Dog Boots from Cooper And Lola's blog a few weeks ago. We were all excited, because where we live it is so snowy! I don't mind being barefoot in the yard, but when we go for walks I get salt in my paw pads and it stings! I start limping and Mama has to carry me. The same thing happens to Trixie, and Grampa has to carry her! Mama thought, if I put on boots, they would keep my feet from getting owies. She had been looking for some boots, when we won these!

Mama had to look at the size chart on the Pawz website and guess what size to order me. The sizes recommended for chihuahuas or malteses (which are two of my mixes) were TINY or XX Small. Mama thinks I am a very tiny dog, so she ordered me a TINY size!

Well, the boots came in the mail, and boy were they tiny! Mama tried to put them on my feet. They barely covered my toes! I stood there on my tiptoes, like a good sport, staring at Mama. The boots were kinda uncomfortable, but I didn't want to hurt Mama's feelings. So I tried putting two of my legs out at my sides at 90 degree angles!

Mama took the boots off.

She felt like a big cow because she had ordered me the wrong size. (What? Oh, sorry. Mama says she felt SHEEPISH. Same thing.) She had really been looking forward to putting those boots on me so I could walk more comfortably! So Mama decided to email the people at Pawz and ask if she could exchange the boots for a better size. She knew it was a long shot, since she had gotten the boots for free, and she was really embarrassed to ask! But looking at those Tiny boots was making her so sad.

So Mama emailed them. And guess what? A lady named Andrea emailed her back to say of course they would send me new boots! She told Mama to measure my feet, from heel to toe, and she would send me the right size. She even said I didn't have to send back the Tiny boots! She said I could give them to a friend! Mama is planning to take them to Almost Home Foundation next time she goes to volunteer, and see if some of the tiny dogs there can use them.

Anyway, the other day the package came in the mail, but it wasn't treats or toys. It was my new boots! I thought, "Uh-oh, here we go again."

But this time, the boots fit perfectly!

At first, I felt weird wearing them. I stood there and tried to lift up at least two or three of my paws at once.

But as soon as Mama opened the back door and let me out, I forgot all about the boots! I was zooming around with Trixie, going crazy and playing like usual. The boots did not slow me down at all or keep me from running comfortably, and they stayed on, even though I was tearing around the yard like a maniac!

Mama wanted to take a picture of me in the boots. But as you can see, the snow is so deep, you can't even find my feet!
So she tried taking a picture with her holding up just one of my front paws, to show off just one boot.

Its really cute, right?

I don't really like putting them on, which Mama says is just tough luck because I don't like putting my harness on either and these are just things I need to do. But once my boots are on, I'm fine! And now, when we go for walks, I do not have to get carried at all! I walk the whole way, and I even climb over the snow mountains that block parts of the sidewalk. My feet don't get owies at all. Mama said soon she is going to try to find a bigger pair for Trixie so that her feet don't sting either.

We wanted to give a BIG thank-you to Andrea at Pawz Dog Boots for sending us a new pair of boots even though Mama was a silly old goat who ordered the wrong size. (Oh yeah. I mean she was a sheep!) And of course, thanks to Cooper And Lola for hosting the giveaway!

Bye everyone! I love you!

Now Here's A Giveaway For The Kitties!

Hi everyone! Me and Mama were talking, and we thought it was totally unfair that there are two giveaways for doggies, and none for kitties. (We don't know why, but we just get more giveaway offers from companies that sell doggie things!) So, Mama said she would donate her own dollars to come up with two surprise prizes for kitties. The prizes will be a surprise even to us, because Mama hasn't bought them yet! She will pick them out when she goes to Petsmart on Saturday for her volunteer job.

Does that make you happy, kitties? It makes me happy, too!

Since this is a surprise prize, you don't even have to do anything to enter! Just leave a comment! Any comment at all. (Remember to leave your email though, if you don't have a blog. Sometimes Mama gets mystery comments from people who leave only their first name, with no link to a blog or a profile or anything! So far none of them have won a giveaway, but if they did, Mama would have no way to tell them!)

Good luck, everyone! Don't forget about the other giveaways! Right now there is one for Claudia's Canine Cousine doggie cookies, and one for a Kong Tugger Knot dog toy. Have fun!

Kong Tugger Knot Review And Giveaway

Hi, everyone! Its me, Lily! Are you enjoying our Valentine's day giveaways? Remember, there are two more today, plus hopefully one more later on in the week if it ever comes in the mail!

Sammy-Joe and Trixie both got to do giveaways, so Mama said I get to do this one. I'm so happy, since I'm the one who's been playing the most with our newest toy!

The people from Kong sent us a Tugger Knot Lion!

What is a Tugger Knot? Its a toy that combines a rope toy with a stuffie. You see, the stuffie is wrapped around the rope toy, making a super-strong, stuffing-free stuffie. It has a rope handle on each end, so you can play Tug-A-War with your human or with a doggie friend. I play Tug-A-War with Trixie sometimes, but I always win because I am more ferocious than Trixie!

It has a squeaker in it too, which makes me love it even more!
Here are the ways I like to play with my Tugger Knot lion. I play Tug-A-War with Mama or Trixie. Or, I chew on it to make it squeak. Or, I command my Mama to throw it for me, and then I chase it and bring it back. Or, I pick it up and SHAKE IT SHAKE IT SHAKE IT!!!!! (Mama says that last way of playing is why I destroy most of my toys. But this one seems pretty tough!)

The Kong people said I can give away THREE Tugger Knot toys to my friends! THREE, I tell you! They come in Small/Medium and Medium/Large, so big doggies should feel free to apply. They also come in four animal stuffies: Lion (like I have), frog, monkey and moose.

Do you wanna hear how you can earn entries?  Remember, if you want, you can list all of the things you did in a single comment, and we will make sure you get the right amount of entries.

1. One entry just for being you.
2. One entry if you "Like" Kong on Facebook.
3. One entry if you follow Kong on Twitter.
4. One entry if you sign up for the Kong email newsletter, which will also enter you to win a gift basket filled with Kong products!
5. One entry if you are our friend on Google Friend Connect OR follow us in your reader.

The deadline is February 8th at 5 pm Central! On February 9th, I'll tell you the THREE DOGS who won!

Okay, everyone. Remember, there are two other giveaways: one for Claudia's Canine Cousine, and the surprise kitty giveaway

Have a great day!

Claudia's Canine Cousine Review And Giveaway

Hi everyone! Guess what! Its time for our Valentine's Giveaway! Today we have three giveaways for you! We have a fourth that is supposed to arrive any day now... its gone MIA! But for now, check out this giveaway and two others!

We got a big surprise in the mail the other day! The president and founder of Claudia's Canine Cousine sent us three packages of gourmet dog cookies! Mama said we could keep one package for ourselves, and give two packages away to our friends. Our choices were Peanut's Peanut butter Goobers, Canine Party Bones, and Love My Luv Bones. We chose the Peanut butter Goobers! We love Peanut butter!

We really wanted to dig right in, but Mama was too busy reading the ingredients to us. First, she wanted to read the ingredients from a box of the regular dog biscuits Grampa buys for us: Wheat flour, Wheat Mill Run, Meat And Bone Meal, Poultry Biproduct Meal, Animal Fat, Salt, Dicalcium Phosphate, Sodium Metabisfolate, and Bacon Flavor.

We don't know what most of that stuff is!

Then Mama read us the ingredients off of the back of one of the Claudia's Canine Cousine packages: Wheat flour, palm oil, corn syrup, honey, vanilla, yogurt, and food colors. Another package included carob and powdered sugar.

We know what all that stuff is! It sounds like things Mama could find around the kitchen to make her own food!

Mama told us that the  lady who started Claudia's Canine Cousine, Debbie Bohiken, really did start making them in her own kitchen. She told our Mama that her dogs were like her children and she wanted to give them top quality food and snacks.

We were kinda listening.... but we were mostly thinking, "Come on, let us try one already!" They looked so good. Some of them even had colored sprinkles on them!

Finally Mama opened the package of Peanut's Peanut Butter Goobers. The cookies were pretty big, so she broke one in half and said we'd have to share them. We didn't mind!

Come on, Mama, give us the cookie already!

They tasted as delicious as they smelled! Mama put them up on the counter, and every time we come in from our walks now, we run over to that spot and wait for her to get out a cookie for us to share.
The cookies smelled so good, Mama had to warn Gramma and Grampa that they are dog cookies, not people cookies! Although. since they're made with regular, everyday ingredients, people could probably eat them. But don't tell them that. We don't want them eating our cookies all up.
So... we have two extra packages to give away. Debbie Bohiken was hoping for some feedback and ideas from us all, and Mama told her we'd like to interview her for a future post. (Mama always likes to help out people who have started their own businesses and are making a living doing what they love!) So here's how you enter. Simply answer as many of the questions as you'd like, in your comment form. You'll get one entry for each answer. Bonus entries for following this blog!

1. What kinds of things do you look for when you shop for treats for your dogs? Are there certain ingredients and qualities that are important for treats to have, or not have?

2. How could Claudia's Canine Cousine better serve you, as a customer?

3. Do you have an idea for a treat you'd like CCC to offer? A particular type, shape, flavor, etc? What are your dog's favorite flavors?

4. Do you have a question that Ms. Bohiken can answer for us in our blog interview?

In your entry, please let us know your preference. Would you rather have the Love My Luv bones (bone-shaped biscuits with pink and purple frosting drizzled on top) or the Party Bones (a variety pack of cookies, some carob flavored, some with sprinkles, some with frosting.) The first name drawn will get their first choice.

The deadline is February 8th at 5 pm Central, and the winner will be announced on February 9th!

Okay, everyone! Good Luck!

Remember to go enter the rest of our Valentine's Giveaways!
There's one for a Kong Tugger Knot dog toy, and one Kitty Surprise!

Trixie Announces The Winner Of The Dog Toy Giveaway!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Some people have been saying they've had weird things happening with pop-ups on this blog. Our Mama says she thinks she figured out the problem and fixed it... but please let us know if you see more pop-ups, or if strange websites just suddenly appear on your screen. We only want banner ads to quietly exist on our site! We don't want to force anyone to look at pop-ups and stuff. Thanks for your help!

Hi, everyone! Its me, Trixie. Yesterday at 5:00 pm Central, I used the Random Name Generator to pick a winner for the Pogo Plush toy from Premier Pet Products! And the winner is...
Myspace Comments

That is kinda weird, really, because we won a giveaway from Cooper And Lola last week! Lily won some boots frm them. We swear we didn't set it up this way though... we used the Random Name Picker! Anyways,c
ongratulations! Please email us at dupagekids@gmail.com with your mailing information, and we will forward it to the people at Premier so they can send you your prize!

In case anyone is wondering, our Pogo Plush bunny is still going strong! Even though my little sister Lily picks it up and shakes it with all her might and runs around with it and jumps up and down on it and does everythiing else tiny, hyper doggies like to do! There are no holes in it, and the squeaker still works! Not bad, for a toy we've had for almost two weeks! If you didn't win, and you'd like to get a Pogo Plush, a Doorway Dangli, or another Premier pet toy, you can check out their store locator. Premier products are sold at Petco, Petsmart, and Menards, as well as a lot of smaller local pet supply places.

Thanks so much, Premier, for sending us our toys and letting us give some away to our friends!

We also want you to know that we're having a BIG Valentine's Day giveaway. Its going to start on Saturday, February 1. Okay, its not a huge giveaway like a car or anything like that... Its actually several small giveaways in one day. Its a Valentine's Day giveaway, but we're going to end it on February 9th so the winners can actually get their prizes by Valentine's Day. What do you think of that?

Oh and I almost forgot. You know Mayzie? Beautiful, brindle doggie with big, sweet brown eyes? Thursday is her Blogoversary! She and her Mom are planning a Commentathon. For every comment made, they'll donate 25 cents to the animal rescue organization that rescued Mayzie from her really rotten old life, where she was tied up in someone's backyard all the time, and helped her find her new Mom and Dad who love her to bits! And if thats not cool enough, they're also going to randomly draw a name from the commentators, and that person will get to make a matching donation to an animal shelter of their choice! So on Thursday, make sure to go over to Mayzie's Dog Blog and make a comment, okay?

Alright. My Mama is eating a cookie right now. I can see her over there munching on it! I am going to go beg her for a piece. See ya later!

Now Here's Trixie With A DOG Giveaway!

Hi everyone! You may or may not know that the kitty among us, Sammy-Joe, is hosting a giveaway for a FunKitty Doorway Dangli by Premier Pet Products. Well, I've got more news! The lady from Premier also sent something for Lily and I! She sent us a Pogo Plush bunny!

The Pogo Plush bunny looks like a regular stuffie... but... and this is something your Mamas and Daddies will like a lot... it has no stuffing! Do you like to tear the stuffing out of your stuffies like we do? Well, with this, you can't. Sorry. But don't worry, its still super fun!

See, its not all floppy like some stuffingless toys. There is a thick rubber frame inside. That means... yep... it
bounces! And it squeaks! When I shake it, I can hear the squeaker rattling around inside!

My crazy little sister Lily loves to shake our new bunny. I think she wants to kill it. She picks it up in her mouth and shake-shake-shakes like crazy! She also likes it when Mama throws it, so she can go get it and bring it back fifty million times, just like she does with her ball.
I, on the other hand, like to play tug-of-war with my Mama with it. I'm not much of a retriever. I also like to carry it around and cuddle with it. I'm kinda planning on nibbling its ears off!
I love my new Pogo Plush Bunny!

The lady from Premier Pet Products said she'll send a Pogo Plush to one of you readers, too! Can you believe it?

To enter, just leave a comment on this post. You can also earn extra entries by doing the following things.

  5. Write a blog and/or Twitter post linking to this blog post.

Okay, that's it for now. I can't wait to see who wins! Right now, I'm gonna go play with my new bunny. Good luck, everyone!

Sammy-Joe Hosts The VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi, everyone! Yesterday a box came in the mail. And there was something in it for me! Mama told me that the nice lady from Premier Pet Products sent me a FunKitty Doorway Dangli!
A Doorway Dangli is a special cat toy that hangs from the doorway. There are several things I like about it.

First, it dangles! If you are a cat, you know what I mean. All the cats in the house, raise your paw if you like stuff that dangles! That alone is enough for me!

Then... it has a long, furry strip coming out of it! The furry strip looks like a feather. Do you love to bat at long, furry feathers that are hanging out of dangly things? Me too!

And finally... this is the best part... It has a compartment inside where your Mama can put cool things, like treats, and catnip! When you whack the dangly thing around, the cool things fall out!!!!!!!

Mama said she knew right away that I was going to love this. But there is one problem. I like to be in my secret fort, and I like to be in the room where my secret fort is located... but I get a little nervous about the rest of the house these days. Because I've been having trouble getting along with my doggie sisters, if i want to go somewhere else in the house, I tend to just dash through the house to get to a room I want to get to. So Mama thought, if she hung it in the doorway of my room, I wouldn't get close enough to play with it. She was also afraid that the doggies would get the treats out of it. BAD DOGGIES!

So, Mama solved the problem by hanging the Doorway Dangli from a pipe above my fort. (But first she put some catnip into it for me!)

Right away, I started batting it around and playing with it!

Mama got really happy! See, these days I don't play much. I am getting on the older side, and the doggies make me nervous, so I tend to just walk around and observe the world. But when Mama hung up the Doorway Dangli, I was playing just like a kitten!

Mama took all sorts of pictures. But because it is so dark in my secret fort, the pictures didn't show up, even when Mama tried to photo-edit them. So she went back and took this one. By then, I was all tuckered out and happy from the catnip, so I was just laying there gazing at my Doorway Dangli!

Here's one thats a little bit better..,

Since the pictures didn't work out so well, Mama said I should show you this video from the Premier website, of a cat playing with a Doorway Dangli. This is just how I was playing! (In fact, that first cat looks a lot like me, doesn't he?)

Some more great things about the Doorway Dangli is that it is adjustable. You can make it hang higher or lower, depending on what your kitty likes. Some kitties like to jump, right?

Also, it has a breakaway system, in case your kitty somehow gets caught on the toy. But, according to the package, you still shouldn't leave pets or kids unsupervised around it, since its a cord dangling from the ceiling. The breakaway system makes it pretty safe, but still,
just in case, Mama says she's going to take it down when she's not home.

Now... here is the best part! The nice lady from Premier Pet Products said she'd give an extra FunKitty Doorway Dangli to one of you! (Don't worry, dogs... there are plenty of giveaways coming up for you!)

Kitties, you know the routine. To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post. On Friday, January 21, at 5:00 pm Central, our Mama will use the Random Name Picker to choose someone!

Sammy-Joe Shares Some News

Hi everyone! Its my turn to blog again, but I was having a horrible time thinking of something to blog about! I'm going through a phase of really taking it easy and staying in my fort and under the stairs, so the annoying dogs can't bother me. Especially Lily! That puppy is noisy! So I didn't have anything exciting to tell you about, really. Mama said I could be the one to tell you some good news for this blog. You'll be interested in hearing this!

Mama has been emailing some different companies that make pet things, and asking them if they'd donate some things for us to review and give away on this blog! So far, a couple of them have written back and offered to send things! This is awesome, because it means Lily and Trixie and I will get some new things that Mama can't usually afford for us, and you will get a chance to get some new things too! So far we have one kitty toy, one doggy toy, and some doggy treats, headed to our house in the mail right now! I am especially excited for the kitty toy, of course.

Here's a piece of important information! You know the "Free Kibble" links on our sidebar? Every Friday (meaning, today, for instance) they have a drawing. They will give away a $50 Petco giftcard to the shelter of the winner's choice. To enter, all you have to do is email them at
Giveaway@freekibble.com with the words "Shelter Giveaway." I'm going to go enter right now for us! You should go enter too!

Lets see... what else has been happening around the house? I've observed a little bit of drama going on. Our Grampa bought a "refurbished" laptop computer over the Internet... even though our Gramma warned him a million times that if he bought one over the Internet it would probably be junky. Well, Grampa was sure it would be fine, because it came with a guarantee. Finally it came in the mail. Mama decided to set it up for Grampa while he was at work... but guess what? She couldn't set it up, because some of the letters on the keyboard wouldn't work! For instance, the always important letter S, as in Sammy-Joe. Grampa was so sad, and Gramma said, "Toldja so!"

Humans are so weird, aren't they?

In other news, our mama had tuna and noodles for dinner last night, and she shared some with me. She said there may be some left over for lunch today. I'm going to go check. Bye!!!
