Peanut Butter Banana Cookies!

Hi everyone! Mama and Gramma have been making a lot of Christmas cookies lately. So Mama decided we should have some special Christmas cookies! (At least the dogs among us.* Mama still hasn't found a good recipe for kitty treats. Does anyone know of any?)

Mama found a recipe on Bullwrinkle.com. Here is the recipe she used:

Ingredients
½ cups water(add more water later if required)
½ cup oil
2 eggs
3 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
½ cup cornmeal
½ cup oats
Directions
Blend wet ingredients together. Whisk dry ingredients together and mix into wet mixture to form a ball of dough. Roll out and shape. Put onto a non-stick cookie tray or lightly greased one. Cook 20 minutes at 400 F. Turn off oven and allow the biscuits to cool in oven until crisp and hard. Store in airtight container.

Mama only made a few changes here. First, she didn't have any cornmeal, so she used extra flour instead. (She Googled it first and found out this was fine.) Second, we had some overripe bananas in the house, so Mama mashed one up and added it in.

Finally, Mama used a cookie cutter to make gingerbread man shapes for us! The only problem was, she couldn't find a rolling pin, so she tried to use the jar of peanut butter to roll out the dough. The result was that instead of lots of thin cookies, we had about ten really thick cookies! Thats fine with us, since Mama only lets us eat a little piece at a time anyway.

Here is a picture of our super-thick "gingerbread men" with no gingerbread in them!

Since its Christmas, Mama thought she'd turn some of these cookies into Christmas gifts. (What? We don't get to keep all of our cookies? Boo, Mama!!!) So she put a few in bags. We are sending three to our cousin Judah in California, and bringing two to our second cousins Rocky and Nugget on Christmas Eve. Also Mama packaged up three for our very favorite neighbor dogs, Andi, Betty and Finn! Here is what the cookies looked like, packaged nicely by Mama.

We got to taste the cookies and we were so happy! Mama tasted one also and she said they were kind of bland. She said it was because there was no sugar, and she's considering adding a little brown sugar in the next batch. We think they're fine, though! No blander than our usual Milk Bones!

We love it when Mama bakes for us! So we asked her a question. We all got together and suggested to her that she make her baking a monthly thing! We thought that, every month, whether she likes it or not, Mama should bake some delicious treats for us. And she agreed! She said we can try out a new dog recipe every month, and blog about it here! Mama says she actually loves to bake, but her treats for humans don't always work out so well (for instance, every time she tries to make chocolate chip cookies, they come out puffy, dry and bland) and she thinks pets are much easier to please than people.

Next we told Mama, maybe she could start a whole new business! It could be called the Pet Treat Of The Month Club! People could subscribe, and each month she'd send them a bag of homemade dog treats. We'd become rich! And she could quit her job and stay home with us full time, baking and baking and baking!

Mama told us our imaginations were getting a little out of control.

Anyways, we sure do like our peanut butter banana "gingerbread" men! We can hardly wait for Mama to bake something else next month! (Lets just hope she doesn't forget.)

*We have to edit this part because later Mama did give Sammy-Joe a small, kitty-sized piece of one of these, and he happily ate it!

We Love Our Yummy Chummies!

We have been getting a lot of treats in the mail, but we were still surprised when the box came from Yummy Chummies! We learned that our friend Sarah from Yummy Chummies had sent over a whole box of salmon treats for us to raffle off to you!
Mama let us sample the Salmon And Bacon flavor. We'd never tasted anything like it... but boy did we love it! We were begging for more!
Wanna know something really funny? Mama broke off some pieces for Sammy-Joe, the kitty among us... and he loved it too! Even he was begging for more! Mama says thats because the treats have salmon in them. And of course kitties love fish. But do you know that salmon is also really good for us doggies, too?  It is chock full of protein, vitamins, minerals, plus Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. We've mentioned before how these Omegas can help fight cancer and are good for our bones, our joints, our hearts, our skin and our beautiful fur.
We have two separate raffle packages to offer you. The first raffle will include a bottle of salmon oil. the super cool thing about the salmon oil is that you can pump a few squirts of it into your pet's regular food at each meal, giving the food all that extra nutrition!
In this raffle package we'll also include a 2.5 pound bag of a new product, not even on the website yet, called Yummy Chummies Gold. the reason we're offering this separately from the other treats is because it is grain free! So, we're hoping some of our friends who do not or cannot eat grain will want to spend their raffle tickets on this. So, if you want to enter the raffle for the Yummy Chummies Gold AND bottle of salmon oil, look for the listing called "Yummy Chummies Package 1" when we list all the choices on March 13.

The other raffle package will include  a 20 ounce bag of Original Soft & Chewy Yummy Chummies, a 4 ounce bag of Jerky Style Salmon, a 4 ounce bag of Salmon And Rice, and a 4 ounce bag of Salmon And Potato. If you do like grain in your treats, and this variety package sounds good for you, look for "Yummy Chummies Package 2" in our listing.

We really love our package, and we have already demanded that our Mama bring us more when our bag runs out. We think you're going to love these, too! And just think of how healthy and soft and shiny we'll all be!

All-Natural Mini-Paw Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

We were so excited when the box from Delca Corporation came in the mail. We could just smell the deliciousness coming from it! We were so excited to find out that our greatest new friend Natalie had sent us some boxes of All-Natural Mini-Paw Peanut Butter Dog Cookies! She sent us three boxes... one for us to keep, and two to raffle off to our friends.

Natalie had told us that these were the most popular of all her dog treats... and we could already smell why!

Mama told us that the ingredients were all regular, human-grade ingredients... basically oats, flour, molasses,  canola oil and peanut butter.

"Stop reading the box! Please open the box, Mama! Hurry!"

"Can I eat it yet?"

The treats are delicious! They're a nice, small size, too... perfect for training treats, or for putting into one of those toys that dispenses treats. Because they're nice and small, and the box is big, we think they will last us for a long time!

Do you know who we thought about while we were eating these treats? Anakin, from Those Elgin Pugs! He sure loves peanut butter, doesn't he.

Two pets and humans who spend their raffle tickets here will win a nice big box of these dog treats! On the list, look for "Mini-Paw Peanut Butter Cookies."

Ready to get some raffle tickets? Each $1.00 that you donate to Apollo, using our ChipIn widget, will equal one raffle ticket. For instance, if you donate ten dollars, you could choose ten chances to win one particular prize, or one chance each for ten different prizes, or two chances each for five different prizes, etc. Here's the ChipIn! (You can start choosing where to spend your tickets on March 13 - March 15.)
