Hi everyone! We wanted to show you the birthday present that our Uncle Jay sent to our Mama! Its a book about dog training, called How To Be Your Dog's Best Friend. It was written by these monks in New York who raise and train dogs at their monastery! Can you believe that? Mama already started reading it last night. We told her that she is already our best friend... and she said "ditto," but she said she thinks Uncle Jay sent her this book because he thinks Lily needs to be trained more.
(Lily: "What? Why do I have to be the one to get trained more?"
Trixie: "Because you're the one that would never stop barking at him while he was here!"
Lily: "Thats because he's like twelve feet tall and really loud! Besides... I am the one with perfect recall skills. All Mama has to do is call my name and open her arms, and I run straight to her. You are the one that Gramma has to chase into the street every time a dog walks by."
Trixie: "Well, who is the one who still pees on the carpet?"
Lily: "Who is the one who still jumps up on people when they're making food in the kitchen?"
Trixie: "You do that too. Its just that you're so small, nobody cares."
Sammy-Joe: "Quit arguing! You both could use some training as far as I'm concerned!")
So... yeah. It looks like a really good book! Mama said when she's done reading it, we'll tell you all about it. And if anyone else has read it, let us know what you think!

Holy Gwalk A Moley... it sounds like this pressie might be Payback fur something. hehehe
Pawsonally I do NOT think We Dawgs need ANY training.. it is the PEEPS who don't do thingys the RIGHT way.
I hope your mom enjoys the book though.
Hi Y'all,
Stop the arguing! Gee gooley! Y'all I have one to two training sessions, sometimes three a day! It's how we keep our skills sharp! Get with the program!

Happy Birthday!! I wasn't going to say anything when I saw you got the Monks book as a gift, but since you asked the opinions of anyone who has read it, here goes....
Personally, I don't agree with the methods - at all. I think they are outdated and punishment promoting. If you want to read a great book on dogs, read Suzanne Clothier's Bones would Rain from the Sky. It was so good, I read it twice.
Or, pick up anything by Pat Miller.
Hi Trixie! Hi Lily! Hi Sammy Joe! Happy Birthday to your mom! That sounds like a very interesting book. We don't think they make a cat version (though our mom said a cat version would be nice) but it does sound interesting. We can't wait to see what the monks think is a good way to train a doggie!
Happy Birthday to your Mama!!!!
My mom person decided that I need more training, so she is looking forward to hearing what you think about this book.

The humans need as much training as we do,that's what they said at our dog school and we didn't forget !
Best wishes for your Mom's birthday.
That's a neat present! We like the title! Happy birthday to your mom. :)
