Its me, little Lily! Its not my turn anymore to write. Today was nobody's turn, and tomorrow will be Sammy-Joe's turn. But Mama said I can have an extra turn tonight because she's feeling sad and cannot go to sleep, which means I am up running around anyway. Mama is sad because my mean Uncle Jay, who has been visiting from California for two weeks, is leaving tomorrow. And Gramma and Grampa, who have been off of work for most of the past two weeks, have to go to work tomorrow. So Mama will be here all alone. It makes her sad to think about being alone.
That's a big part of our job as support dogs... because with me and Trixie and Sammy-Joe around, Mama is never all the way alone. When she is sad and crying we will sometimes help just by laying by her and letting her hold us and licking her tears. Other times we help out just by needing her. She will have to get up and take us for walks during the day. She will need to throw the ball for me at least ten million times. She cannot just be sad all day.
When Mama is sad it is sometimes harder for her than when other people are sad, because her sad just won't go away. It makes her hurt and hurt and hurt, and she cannot look at the TV or eat or use the computer or go outside because everything makes her feel yuck. But me and Trixie and Sammy-Joe can help her feel a little bit better and closer to normal, so she can do those things. She will be very sad when Uncle Jay leaves in the taxi, and we will have to lick her and hug her and look our cutest at her until Gramma gets home from work.
Mama will be okay because later on tomorrow when Gramma gets home from work, she and Mama are going to go to the grocery store, and then the next day they are going to make this oatmeal. It takes like ten million hours to make. That is kind of confusing to me because my Grampa makes oatmeal every morning before he goes to work. He always shares some with me. He makes it really fast in the microwave. But Mama and Gramma say this is super good oatmeal that takes forever and ever to make! I hope they share with me!
Wanna see a really silly picture of Mama? She got a hat for Christmas that makes her look like a doggy. She thinks when she takes us for walks, people will think we are three dogs walking together!
OK Mama says she might go night-night now. Tomorrow will be Sammy-Joe's turn to write, and he says he will show you his secret fort!
Bye, friends!

@Pepsi BumHi! Thanks for coming to our blog! Our Mama is doing pretty good so far today, so I guess we are doing good work! :)
@Jazzi Hi Jazzi! We will do our best to keep Mama busy. We will look for some funny stories to read. Good idea! :)
@Mr. Pip Thank you for your kind words! We can almost always manage to make Mama smile, just by staring at her!
@Daisy We think its pretty sad that humans have to go to work. When our Mama had a job and everyone was at work during the day, we sometimes got mad and peed on the floor!
@Brian Thank you Brian for your kind words! We will do our best!
@LaLa
Thanks Lala! We will do our best! We will come see your blog again soon!
@bbes tribe Thank you for your nice words! We will visit your blog again soon too. What did the oatmeal taste like when your Mom had it? Did she share it with you?
@Winnie Thanks Winnie! We really try to be helpful! For instance, Lily wants you to know that today she rolled her ball all the way under the workbench in the basement, and then cried and cried, and Mama had to get a broom and a flashlight to get the ball back! Lily is sure it made Mama feel very useful! ;)
I know all of you will do your best to help your mom. Having all of you with her has got to make her do something and not be so sad at least for awhile! My mom got really sick years ago and the cardiac nurses talked her into getting a puppy which is me. She kept saying no but they kept insisting. They knew if she had a puppy and kept it until she turned into a dog, she couldn't stay in bed constantly. It's impossible with dogs and cats around! Lots of love, Holly
That do be our most impawtantest job effur keeping the hoomans entertained and happy. Mom has been wanting the boy to move out fur a furry long time. (He be 30 gabillion years old now.) His company is prolly moving him to CHINA soon and the holes I dugged in the yard neffur maded it to China so mom cannot go visit him. Wot to do? I will just has to make mom take me hiking more so she dussn't get sad. It be a tuff job but somedog has to do it.
@♥I am Holly♥ Holly - We love the story of how you helped your Mom when she was sick! Pets are awesome, aren't they? We feel sad for humans that don't understand how special pets really are. Keep up the good work!
@Shawnee the Shepherd 30 gabillion years is REALLY old! It is tough work keeping the humans from being sad when they miss eachother, isn't it? Lots of hiking sounds like it will be a great way to keep your Mom busy! Where we live its cold and gray out, so its hard for us to get our Mom to go outside at all right now except SHORT walks. Keep up the good work!
